Bowing The Strings

International Folk Fiddle Camp

3. – 6. June 2021, Sudhaus Tübingen

A four-day experience — suitable for players of all levels —that might just change your playing forever!

Our sponsors

Immerse yourself in beautiful music, learn new tunes and different styles and participate in incredible jam sessions that last late into the night…

During these four days you will learn from our international teachers and we will all learn from each other, you will enjoy jam sessions and great evening concerts held by our instructors, and to top it off as our final celebration, everyone will take part in a big concert to celebrate our time together.

The camp is led by experienced international folk musicians and you have the opportunity to dive into the fascinating world of folk music from dusk till dawn.

How it works

In the group, we learn tunes in different styles, which we then perform together in front of an audience on the last day. In smaller special workshops you will learn specific folk techniques on your instrument, such as ornaments, chords, holding a groove and other special tricks to spice up your playing. In these workshops, you also have the opportunity to address individual topics.

The camp is designed so that it is easy to play together at different levels. Both advanced and beginner players (confident mastery of the first position is a prerequisite) can participate and everyone will be encouraged at their own level.
