String crossing
String crossing is a big subject. The first module focuses on string crossing with short strokes. It is not possible to cover all skills with only few presentations. The goal is:
- to understand the basic position for performing in the square position on all strings.
- to develop upper-arm flexibility
- maintain a good sound while crossing strings
- avoid unnecessarily movements, achieve the goal with less effort
- understanding which technique subjects influence comfortable string crossing
For players, who perform music, which is mostly played in one part of the bow only, this can cover most of their needs. For players, who play repertoire that requires the use of the whole bow this is a great starting point for several actions. For teachers, this is the basic concept of the upper-arm flexibility in string crossing.
You will be required to send recordings of the exercises and videos of your playing during the course.
